Creating a sense of order and restraint, traces of movement from wear and damage balance out the sheer uniformity of the piece, immediately drawing attention to the tension between structure and disruption. Each interruption in the orderly patterns mirrors how one’s memories shift, become fated, or become fragmented over time. Through this piece, Coson fully embraces imperfections as primary evidence of physical contact, pressure, and the passage of time. She transforms her subject into a poetic reflection of memory and the marks that life experiences often leave behind.
