By using the canvas as an expansive and active field and filling it with irregular shapes, rough surfaces, and sweeping marks creates an energetic abstraction—one where all fragments were being thrown together by a powerful force.

Consisting of overlapping geometric and irregular shapes in brown, orange, yellow, red, black, white, and muted earth tones, Joya arranged the figures across the canvas in separate but interconnected areas, seemingly converging or exploding rapidly toward a single point. Complementing the title Energy Bolt, the masterpiece portrays a concentrated release of energy, with forms expanding across the canvas like energized debris.

The bright yellow at the center serves as the painting's nucleus. Its color contrasts like an electric flash against the darker surrounding forms. The masterpiece became a representation of how to turn color, texture, shape, and gesture into a visual experience of energy. The warm colors create heat. The fragmented forms create tension, and the sweeping marks emphasize movement. Joya, in turn, finishes the painting as something that communicates through visual sensation—one that feels energetic, fragmented, spontaneous, and constantly in motion.
