Luz received his rudimentary art lessons from traditional masters; thus, his early works adhered to realism until he stripped his subjects to their most basic shapes in the 1950s. Soon after, he worked with collages, prints, and even sculpture.<br/><br/> Despite the many changes in his art, the performers have been an on-and-off subject of his paintings. Luz depicts them as jugglers, cyclists,  musicians, dancers, and actors. At times, they were rendered in a more human-like form. However, most of the time, they were executed with just lines, showcasing the artist's penchant for linear structure, as seen in Three Musicians, painted in 2002. Simple yet elegant, it showcases the hallmarks of Luz's distinctive style: minimalist, geometric paintings in a limited palette.
