Resulting in a work of art that exists between order and disorder.

Rather than presenting a recognizable scene, Cruz builds the triptych through layers of oil paint that drip, scratch, smear, and disrupt the rigid structure of the three wooden panels. Several colors overlap and collide across the surface, with some carefully dragged into thin strands while others drip downward. Composing an amalgamated mass of tangled oil paints that resembles unorganized threads rather than conventional brushwork. The title itself offers a clue to how the triptych can be understood. Jigger Cruz’s chaotic masterpiece attempts to reflect the silent dance of hell’s chaos. Each movement of the paint reflects the wild chaos that defines hell— each strand tangles and collides with one another to create an eternal, endless dance.

Yet beneath the apparent disorder, Cruz maintains structure through the rigid panel format and the long horizontal band of white that occupies the upper portion. Rather than depicting hell itself, Jigger Cruz transforms the hellscape into a purely abstracted, material experience—one built through weight, movement, and the amalgamation of paint.
