At the back of the piece, Javier presents a surface decorated with scattered leaves that seem to flow downwards. A rabbit also subtly peeks out from the surface, recalling the white rabbit from the novel. Unlike the fairy tale rabbit, though, Javier presents the figure so that it's almost concealed, blending in with the falling leaves. It seems to be observing the one looking at the piece.Just like many of her works, Geraldine Javier's masterpiece uses plants and natural forms not just as decoration but as subtle symbols. The falling of leaves and the weathering of the dead tree reflect one's emotional space, showing both the beauty and decay that revolve around growing up.

The title itself—Alice in No Man's Land—describes a familiar character of innocence and curiosity being placed into a symbolic place of \"no man's land\". One that's not full of magical and whimsical creatures but an ambiguous territory full of uncertainty and where one's identities are still being negotiated. In this masterpiece, Javier attempts to encourage thinking and meditation about moments in life where one feels lost, uncertain, or caught between life's transitions. In turn, Javier's masterpiece presents a poetic reflection on transition, uncertainty, and resilience. It successfully transforms a familiar fairy tale into a visual introspection about the challenges of growing up and finding one's place in the world.
