Using his fragmented color planes, he depicts three women in what seems to be a marketplace image. Rather than relying on a more faithful and direct translation of the scene, he instead focuses on atmospheric rendition, celebrating community and history through colors and forms.

Entitled Donne entro caleidoscopio di colori (which roughly translates to Women within a kaleidoscope of colors), the titular kaleidoscope is translated into visual art through the artist’s usage of fragmented colors. However, this fragmentation connects the piece instead of severing it in its entirety — it is a phantasmagoria of colors and elements that create an image of a whole.

More than its aesthetic value, Donne entro caleidoscopio di colori also boasts an impressive provenance, as it traces its history to Monsignor Giovanni Gravelli, who purchased this piece in the 1950s while serving as Deputy Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines.
