His colors “glow,” as National Artist Arturo Luz described it, his colors spanning every end of the spectrum. There is no color he avoids; as such, each painting is a visual treat, presenting its viewers with a cacophony of hues that shouldn’t have worked but did.

In his piece, he weaves shades of orange, burgundy, green, pink, and gray across the canvas, creating a beautiful image using a seemingly incoherent color scheme. He paints impressionistically, translating the vivacity of his subject through his broad brushstrokes. His vivid sense of color elevates this piece, creating a burst of excitable energy that shows the master at the peak of his artistic prowess.
