Instead of the high Elizabethan collars, his young woman wears a tree bark around her neck. Her dress is the trunk itself, her hair the vines, and her accessories the various critters of the forest. At her back, an ax is impaled — a warning, perhaps a metaphor. As with Uhing, it could be both, a surrealist twist on an otherwise traditional composition.
