Her mastery of color harmony integrated\nwith her distinct brushstrokes resulted in an engaging\ntake on the local folk genre. Her natural interpretation\nof the genre is attributed to her understanding of the\ncommon people - their lifestyles, resilience, and\nby their everyday living.
\nLively market scenes featuring local women are\na recurring subject matter in Belleza’s oeuvre. As\nexemplified in this piece, Belleza always puts at the\nforefront of her composition the folk people such\nas the women vendors, emphasizing their inherent\npotency and native physical appearance. Belleza\nrenders her subjects in vivid colors, with the artist\nrelinquishing a smooth brush stroke in favor of a\ntexturally grainier yet strikingly evocative one. Belleza\ngives us a more profoundly personal glimpse at\nwomen vendors, displaying their delightful and buoyant\ndisposition in life through the vibrancy of colors. Her\npalette also exudes an energy that is revitalizing for\nthe beholder. In a seemingly uncontrived snapshot\nfrom their lives, Belleza humanizes her subjects,\nputting them in their everyday situations to establish\naffinity with the ordinary viewer.","lot_group":"PAINTING","lot_details_html":"
