This style is an allegorical\nrepresentation of our multifaceted identity as a nation rendered in a layered\nmultiplex of images and styles. Throughout our tumultuous collective history,\nour colonial influences have intertwined with our indigenous culture, creating a\nconvoluted yet overwrought sense of identity. In this particular art piece, Ventura\ntraverses on both the historical and the metaphysical through a discourse of figures\nevoking American popular culture, as shown in this portrait of a little boy dressed\nin traditional cowboy clothing with an image of a unicorn from an American\ncartoon that is embossed on it.
