\nIn appreciating Concepcion’s works, one must not look for verbal\nexplanations but rather to encounter the actual painting in the\nflesh, understanding its surface, size, and texture. His mastery of\ncolor is shown through the harmonies that are produced by the\nintermingling of hues in his canvas, which he described as a result\nof his impassioned appreciation for music. Although there is a\npreponderance of black in this particular work, to contemplate\non his works is to find serenity in our inner selves. The ambiance\nof this painting brings comfort to the psyche. For Concepcion,\nhis works are a result of his sentiments and artistry. Serenity is\nthe spirit that emanates from his painting - a manifestation of his\nfulfillment as an artist and confidence in his artistry","lot_group":"PAINTING","lot_details_html":"
