For Calubayan, art, now more than ever, must take upon an interdisciplinary and intersectional approach given that  the reality of the world is now presupposed by an inherent sense of pluralism. In this piece entitled Curatorial Exercise: Unused Living Room,  Calubayan challenges our traditional perception of art. The work suggests that art should go beyond the act of seeing, but must also  reflect a sense of being. For Calubayan, this means that art must reflect  the multifaceted nature of reality by combining different approaches in order to achieve a successful synthesis.
