Art, as a language, is able \nto indicate vague or concrete images in the same \nmanner that musical compositions could as well do. \nApparently, his musical afición was indeed vital, but \nso was his thorough grounding on the fundamental \nprinciples of art.<br /><br />\nThe virtuosity of Alcuaz as a painter is present in \nhis ability to swiftly shift from figurative painting to \nabstract. In the book Parallel Texts: Federico Aguilar \nAlcuaz written by Rod Paras-Perez, the artist’s works \nare “characterized by brisk vivacity, as though the artist \nwere anxious to animate the work before whatever pact \nhe had made with the supernatural expired, before the \nessence of his being succumbed to the inevitable.”<br /><br />\nIn the ‘70s, Alcuaz held numerous exhibits both here \nand abroad, from Austria to Barcelona, Germany, and \nthe Netherlands too. He would also travel between \nManila, Madrid, and New York, although he thought of \nhis travels as lost time, much preferring to spend it with \nhis paintings.
