He brought together the \ndynamism of his diaphanous forms into a singular entity \nthat can be imagined as waves of colors prancing in the \nmind, and such is observed in Diaphanous Anthuriums \n#51 dated 1997.<br /><br />\nThe Diaphanous series, a composition that continued \nthroughout his artistic career, is a unique body of \nabstract paintings that “are veritable visions of light.” \nHis interest in capturing the luminescent quality of \nvarious bodies of water was the inspiration behind \nthis style, and its forms have been likened to dragonfly \nwings, sheets of gossamer veil or gauze, and even a \nsymphony.<br /><br />\nAbstraction was his tool in permeating the bright hues \nof color as a symphonic spectacle that captivates the \neye. Olazo first rose to prominence as a printmaker \nwho made striking innovations in this field, and this fed \ninto the development of his series. This work, created \nthrough the medium of silkscreens, is painted with a \nnot too imposing palette to draw the attention to the \nfleeting and animated movements of the anthuriums, \nhis favorite flower.
