His oeuvres are populated with a brilliantly \ncurated array of colors that seem to glow under the luminosity of \nan inviting and unnerving radiance. His inspirations, decorated \nin his combination of intense brushstrokes and striking palette, \nwere drawn from the material beauty of the physical world.<br /><br />\nA serene meditation and introspection are imbued in every \nNuyda piece, a quality attributed to his artistic approach. Yet, \nsimple was how he described his practice. He starts by priming \nthe canvas with as much as seven coatings, followed by painting \nit with waif-like strokes that are robust and delicate at the same \ntime, evoking a solid slate and the fluidity of butterfly wings \nfloating over horizons. Afterward, ethereal geometric forms \nwere subtly incorporated into his abstract compositions. He \nwas spontaneous as an artist, composing as he painted, only \nconcluding an artwork once the paintbrush was lifted from the \ncanvas.<br /><br />\nHis ability to capture the enigmatic nature of scenery is very \nwell encapsulated in this 2003 oil painting. Indeed, the alluring \nlandscapes that Nuyda committed to his canvases were windows \nto how he saw the world. Although one can argue that his works \nof art evoke impressionistic and gestural visual cues that are \nundoubtedly hallmarks of an age-old artistic movement, a closer \nlook will reveal that his works seem to occupy an unusual and \notherworldly divide between the abstract and sensuous and the \nrepresentational and realistic.
