The bond between a parent \nand child is very much valued in Filipino culture, and the lot at \nhand shows that Orlina cherishes such notions as well, it is his \nartistic representation of a tender familial bond.<br /><br />\nImbued with an architect’s sense of space and proportion, \nOrlina’s creations were observed to refract light to and from the \nspace around them. Here, the artist once again laid his artistic \nglass impressions clearly through his representations of the \nfacets of light. One might also notice that it is not in the color \nof Orlina’s iconic liquid green, it exhibits his explorations on new \ncolors for his glass oeuvre. <br /><br />\nIn 2012, a year after this glass piece was made, Orlina was \nbestowed the Gold Medal of Merit Award by the Philippine \nInstitute of Architects in recognition of his outstanding works \nin the field of Architecture and Visual Arts.
