Her \nemployment of unconventional \ntechnology when it comes to image making allows her to explore new \nways of seeing and understanding. \nIn fact, the lot at hand embodies \nthe core tenets of Garcia’s artistic \nphilosophy. As observed here, the \nhands, which were implied to be \nused for faith such as prayers and \ngenuflections, appear to be not from \na human but a mannequin or a \nrobot. The title is explicitly revelatory, \nguiding the viewer to understand \nthe piece in an investigative manner, \nsimilar to how one would read an \nactual x-ray film.<br /><br />\nFor her first international exhibit, \nGarcia presented a number of x-ray based works that featured popular \nreligious icons and figures. In doing \nso, she was able to deconstruct \nlong-held beliefs and ideologies, \nespecially those witnessed and dealt \nwith firsthand.
