The color field sensibility \nof the visual artist allows him to paint surfaces that are \nethereal — revealing at the edges, under layers of the \nsame color, a rich density and hue that seems to allow \nthe painting to glow from within. His luminous canvas \nis deceptively direct, yet it provides an extraordinary \nimpact on the viewer. There is no attempt to create more \nthan the bare essentials of picture space; the geometric \nquality of the frame, with its right angles, makes for \norder, hence, conscious rationality.<br /><br /> \nFor Aguinaldo, an elaborate spatial framework or \nexcessive use of color, decoration, or narrative could \ndetract from the picture’s power.
