In typical Amorsolo fashion, the \nfigure of a man taking care of his rooster is outlined against a \ncharacteristic glow, and the subdued orange sunlight hitting the \nearth highlights the nearby details, especially the green grass. \nThe man may be under the shade of a tree or the shadows of a \nnipa hut. Says Alfredo Roces in his book, Amorsolo (1975): “More \naccurately, it was the shadow areas he painted with a richness \nof color that previous artists had simply obscured with dark \nscrumble.”\nAmorsolo’s optimistic, pastoral images set the tone for Philippine \npainting before World War II. Except for his darker World War \nII-era paintings, Amorsolo painted quiet and peaceful scenes \nthroughout his career. He was the first to extensively portray \ntraditional Filipino customs and manners, fiestas and occupations \nlike fishing, planting, going to market, washing laundry, cooking \nand reading","lot_group":"PAINTING","lot_details_html":null,"alias":null,"hp":12000000,"bp":0.168,"isWithdrawn":0,"accounting_hp":12000000,"userBid":5926,"isPaid":0,"userId":22,"lot_status":"SOLD","isDone":1,"bid_history_id":null,"reserve_price":null,"hammer_price":14016000,"fav":0},"image":[{"id":30995,"img_url":"https://leongallery.sgp1.digitaloceanspaces.com/v2/auction/40/65/lot/126.jpg","isFeatured":1}]},"increment":[11000000,12000000,13000000,14000000,15000000,16000000,17000000,18000000,19000000,20000000],"prev":125,"next":127,"count_bid":0,"bid_history":[],"tokenExpired":1}
