For this work, the artist foregrounds how the act of reading is akin to solving a Rubik’s cube, which is held aloft by two dexterous hands which have emerged on the top of the reader’s head.  The book in question is the Diary of Anne Frank, which chronicles the young girl’s and her family’s pursuit in eluding the Nazis. Perhaps, in juxtaposing the puzzle and the book, the reader is looking into an almost infinite array of permutations of how the book could theoretically end in success, with Anne Frank and her family fleeing to a much safer place.
