Unearthed functional vessels, some stamped with names, places, even government offices, strongly suggest the existence of a nationwide industry through the period. Molds and journeymen have aided tremendously in the manufacturing of such at the time, but the most notable technical innovation of the period was the development of lead-glazing.  Moreover, such low-fired glazes were infused with different metals to achieve certain colors. \nSince as early as 1600 B.C., horses have been domesticated and raised by the Chinese.  A symbolic physical representation of one of the most significant creatures in Chinese culture, horse statues were made in honor of the valiant and renowned beasts — these were usually created in bronze,  jade, wood, or porcelain. \nIn context, horses would loyally pull chariots with armies into war.
