Yet neither dominates Luz’ which is about individual expression transcending both cultural influences. \nMaking art which has shaken off the influences of other artists and other styles to the point where one recognizes it as representative of one’s own creative instincts takes discipline and integrity. Moving from the mainstream and its requisite discipline to another after years of practice compounds the challenge. \nLuz has taken his oeuvre further than most during his career. He has developed a subtle imagery for an image overloaded age. \nSimply, he leaves the viewer room to “complete” the painting experience in their mind. \nArturo Luz has, over the past half century, moved from the more spontaneous expression of the everyday world around him to the more formal approach to his art, a crystallizing towards a stylistic direction, that he is known for today.","lot_group":"PAINTING","lot_details_html":"
Arturo Luz (1926 - 2021)
Musicians
enamel on panel
28” x 50” (71 cm x 127 cm)
","alias":null,"hp":18000000,"bp":0.168,"isWithdrawn":0,"accounting_hp":18000000,"userBid":5926,"isPaid":0,"userId":22,"lot_status":"SOLD","isDone":1,"bid_history_id":null,"reserve_price":0,"hammer_price":21024000,"fav":0},"image":[{"id":38361,"img_url":"https://leongallery.sgp1.digitaloceanspaces.com/v2/auction/60/88/lot/149.jpg","isFeatured":1}]},"increment":[11000000,12000000,13000000,14000000,15000000,16000000,17000000,18000000,19000000,20000000],"prev":148,"next":150,"count_bid":0,"bid_history":[],"tokenExpired":1}
