Because of this, Castañeda deliberately avoided being identified with the Amorsolo School.  Castañeda, as opposed to Amorsolo, rendered  landscapes and such in cool tones.  His use of white with cool hues of blue was distinctly adverse that  of Amorsolo’s fiery reds and warm yellows.  These pieces are fine examples of Castañeda’s masterful landscapes.
