As usual with him, the work has a mystical quality which is conveyed by a large black surface with a superimposed calligraphic motif.  “Om” is an ejaculation that Buddhist priests repeatedly chant before they pray, and the calligraphy in the midst of the dark loneliness of the human spirit, symbolically stands for it.
