His early paintings were often ornately embellished and richly colored, mostly featuring the Filipina. He also explored mother and child motifs, an enduring theme in art that almost every iconic Filipino artist has drawn inspiration from. The bond between a mother and child is precious and meaningful, and its sincere familial affection is captured in the two lots at hand made in 1985 and 1988, both bearing the title: Mother and Child.

In 1980, Dizon went to Mexico with two fellow artists, where they joined modern Mexican artists for a group exhibit at the Museo de Moderno. He also participated in a contemporary art show in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Then, in 1981, he spent six months with the Forum Group, which he co-founded in Los Baños, and took part in the group’s four exhibits of experimental art. Dizon, who studied painting at the University of the Philippines, creates oeuvres that are regarded with high artistic value and are popular among collectors.
