Hailing from Paete, Laguna, the “The Folk Artist” creates picturesque depictions of his rustic hometown and the awe of its festivals and day-to-day life, as seen in his 2004 piece titled The Blessed Mother.

A well-traveled contemporary artist, Baldemor has served as an artist-inresidence in over five countries. His interpretations of locales abroad are filled with a rustic and familiar aura that reminds its viewers of their home fronts, towns, and valleys. From his 1989 aquarelle Sacred Besakih Mountain to his 2003 acrylic painting Sakura The Gift of Spring, these featured lots serve as previews of Baldemor’s visual travel diaries — full of his lived experiences imbued on the canvas and told through his paintbrush.
