Early in his career, he worked with indigenous materials and local vegetable dyes, and made his own paper using cogon, banana, or rice straw. Aside from a deep passion for creativity, it was also his way of being frugal in the face of expensive art materials.
Bose was a prolific artist with a vast oeuvre in the forms of paintings, prints, installations, and performances. He studied fine arts at the University of the Philippines from 1967 until 1972, the year Flat Lands was created. In 1976, Bose became a recipient of the Thirteen Artists Awards by the Cultural Center of the Philippines. (P.I.R.)","lot_group":"PAINTING","lot_details_html":"
