The fun comics in the papers he was dealing with caused him to spark an interest in drawing and spending his free time in high school copying comic strips. This practice eventually led him to a career as a comic illustrator, mentored by renowned comic artists such as Nestor Redondo, Tony Carabana, and Alfredo Alcala, among others.

“For me, it’s all practice, you learn from every piece you draw,” Samson once said in an interview. Indeed, his incessant practice and experimentation led to a diverse body of work spanning different styles and mediums. His themes centered around portraits, landscapes, still lifes, seascapes, and human interests—a testament to Samson’s prolific artistry. Over the course of his career, he mounted over a hundred one-man shows and participated in countless group exhibitions.
