In the case of this particular\npiece, Legaspi bares the sublimity of the female figure\nin its unclad beauty. The work at hand is a gift from\nLegaspi to Leticia Shahani. By depicting the female nude\nas an empowered figure, free from inhibitions and able\nto express her femininity confidently, Legaspi enkindles a\nreclaiming of the female narrative. Thus, this piece was a\nfitting gift to an empowered woman who defied all odds\nto become a pioneering Filipina diplomat and lawmaker\namid a male-dominated political arena.
