Painted in 1977, A Tree portrays a giant\nmosaic-like tree in the middle of a colorful cityscape,\nemanating an immaculate lyrical orchestration of color\nand energy in the canvas. Malang, as if a horticulturist\nwho crafts his own flora, painted his subject in a manner\nthat is impressionistic, capturing its spirit more than its\nappearance. The lot at hand evokes an extravagant\nburst of creation produced by a master at the pinnacle\nof his artistic talent.<br /><br />Malang was one of the widely-known Filipino artists with\nan affinity for colors.
